What Paperwork Do I Need when Traveling with a Horse?

Posted on 09/12/201701/12/2019 by coggins tests

A Coggins Test is only one part of the process and paperwork for traveling with a horse. The big thing you need is a Health Certificate, also known as a Certificate of Veterinarian Inspection (CVI). An alternate solution is the digital horse passport, GoPass, which you can get from the Global Vet Link. This is especially common for owners who frequently travel between states and also serves as an Equine Interstate Event Permit. Finally, if you’re traveling more than 75 miles in most western states, you’ll need to get a brand inspection even if you’re not leaving the state.
