First established in 1950 by Harry W. Johnson, DVM who treated many large animals including cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats, but horses were always the first passion of this business. Today, a huge staff of more than 50 people including veterinarians, vet assistants, and support personnel focus exclusively on testing and treating horses. For horse owners and practicing vets, it’s hard to find a better spot for specialized horse care in the Rocky Mountain region.

You can get comprehensive and reliable test results for emergency cases as well as regulatory diseases needed to buy a new horse, travel across state lines, as well as other equine activities regulated by your state. In addition to federally-licensed and approved Coggins testing, their on-site laboratory provides rapid turnaround times for CBCs, chem panels, cultures, cytology, fecal examinations, blood-gas analysis, microbiology and parasitology. They also work with specialized third-party labs when necessary. You can also take a tour of their lab by making an appointment. Last time we checked with the business, Cindy Sullivan was their primary laboratory technologist.
