Founded in 1975 under the original name, DVMLabs, New England Horse Labs has a state-of-the-art equine lab in Worcester. This FDA-inspected, fully-accredited lab is capable of routine Coggins testing and specialized diagnostic services. Whether you need regulatory testing, timely diagnostic services, or specialized tests for rare equine conditions, New England Horse Labs is an essential resource for veterinarians and horse owners in New England and throughout the country. They also offer a wide range of histology, veterinary, and clinical services.

Their technicians attend specialized training in Ames, Iowa. Their lab passes Coggins proficiency evaluations each year. But more than technology and technicians, New England Horse Labs also focuses on comprehensive customer service for veterinarians and horse owners alike. They offer general information and resources for EIA testing. They offer GlobalVetLink and VSPS electronic form submission and Paper Form 10-11 for Coggins test information. They will also mail two (2) copies (white and yellow) back to the requesting veterinarian and/or the vet’s secure webpage, as well as any appropriate state agency. All specimens received by 1pm EST are tested and reported on the same day. Batch results are faxed daily; certificates are mailed out daily.

Like other reputable equine labs that accept shipping packages, you need to follow the three-component shipping guidelines of vacuum-sealed tube, surrounded by secondary absorbent materials and a sealed bag packed inside a strong box or container. For shipping supplies, testing forms, and other supplies, you can have the lab send these materials to you with this supply request form. You can also get free shipping boxes and discounted, pre-paid UPS shipping labels. USPS and FedEx may also be used. The lab is open Monday through Friday from 9am—4pm. For after-hours, weekend or holiday drop-offs or pick-ups, you will need to call ahead to make arrangements.
