The NMDA Veterinary Diagnostic Services Division is charged with providing accurate, timely services for the diagnosis of animal disease to support the citizens of New Mexico, including the livestock industry and veterinary professionals. They conduct laboratory and diagnostic analyses of animal specimens from referring veterinarians and relevant state agencies, including AGID and ELISA testing for equine infectious anemia.

For a reasonable $8.50 fee and with fast turnaround times including Global Vet Link, you can comply with regulatory Coggins testing while managing veterinary costs and client services. Like other state-run vet labs, there are several online resources you can use to facilitate your request and sample submissions for lab testing. View their entire list of tests and fees. Their summary of general policies offers most of the information you need to ship and submit samples to the lab, including courier services, billing, and reporting information.

Part of National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN), the VDS is housed with other state health agencies as part of New Mexico’s Scientific Laboratory Division. The VDS is open 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday, except major holidays.
