The Clemson Veterinary Diagnostic Center (CVDC) helps veterinarians, animal owners, and livestock producers monitor, diagnose, and manage potentially harmful animal diseases. The A member of the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN), the CVDC protects the food supply as well as the health and welfare of the citizens of South Carolina and the country.
Their laboratory capabilities include necropsy, histopathology, bacteriology, virology, and serology including EIA Coggins testing. The lab runs both AGID and ELISA tests as well as STAT testing available in as little as two hours. Price per test can be anywhere from $6-$60, depending on requested turnaround time. However, samples must be received by 12pm to be set up on the same day. You can view a full list of tests and fees.
You will also need to submit the federal form information for Coggins testing, but you can find the lab’s general submission form here. Find basic shipping information including how to take advantage of discounted and preprinted FedEx shipping labels. The CVDC is open 8am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Samples can also be received after-hours until 6:30pm and on Saturdays from 10am – 2pm.
