Dr. William J. Howard started his Watertown veterinary practice in 1983 to provide veterinary medicine to large and small animals including exotics like buffalo, elk, and other livestock. From the beginning, equine medicine and surgery has been a central part of the Howard Veterinary Clinic. From routine care to specialized surgery to laboratory testing, this vet clinic is a great choice for horse owners and independent veterinarians to get the care they need for their equines.
Along with a haul-in facility, their USDA-accredited lab runs Coggins testing for equine infectious anemia with turnaround times in as little as an hour. They also issue the accompanying certificate of veterinary inspection, necessary for interstate travel or horse sales. Other equine services include dental floats, pre-purchase exams, castrations, radiology, vaccinations, reproductive ultrasound, emergency care and general medicine. Their hours are 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday and 8am – 12pm Saturday. They also provide after-hours emergency care.
