In 1984, Chaparral Veterinary Center was started in Jourdanton, Texas by John D. Clader where he still oversees the practice. This vet practice received a merit award and was runner-up for Hospital of the Year in the Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Contest in 1989. Then, in 1996, Dr. Clader was also named General Practitioner of the Year in Texas. That said, the entire Chaparral family of veterinary professionals is committed to raising the bar for veterinary medicine, while providing exemplary care and service to animal patients and their owners. Today, a strong culture of continuing education and reinvestment makes this clinic a great choice for horse owners, livestock producers, as well as your household pets.

From lameness exams and surgical procedures to dentistry and reproduction, the equine services from Chaparral offer both emergency care and two different horse wellness programs that can address the specific needs of your horses and stable. In addition to vaccinations and deworming, these routine wellness services include in-house EIA Coggins testing and health certificates with quick turnaround times and GlobalVetLink processing for last-minute travel plans. They make farm calls, or you can bring your horses in to the clinic. Other diagnostic lab services include fecal analysis (eggs per gram count), CBC (complete blood count), and chemistry profiles.

The Chaparral Veterinary Center is open from 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday and 8am – 12pm on Saturdays.
