Providing comprehensive surgical and medical care to horses in north Texas since 1992, Rockwall Equine Center is a family-owned-and-operated business. In addition to Coggins testing for equine infectious anemia with same-day results, they offer an extensive list of equine services. This includes general health, vaccines and preventative care, reproduction, ultrasound, endoscopy, dentistry, hoof care, lameness exams, nutrition, and intensive care. Rockwall Equine Center has a 9,000 sq ft temperature-controlled equine hospital with 14 hospital stalls, two isolation and quarantine stalls, a full surgical suite, and padded recovery room. Their in-house laboratory also performs blood chem panels and bacterial cultures and sensitivities.
Founded by Dr. David Celella, who is a member of the AAEP and was recognized as the TVMA Equine Practitioner of the Year in 1999, this vet practice focuses on equine animals. That said, they also have a sister practice, Poetry Animal Hospital, that offers veterinary care to small animals. They will treat your animals like valued members of the family.
Rockwall Equine Center believes the best veterinary care for animals should include ongoing nutrition and health problem prevention. They will happily develop the best preventative care program for your horses and other animals. In addition to 24-hour intensive care services, their regular hours of operation are 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays by appointment. Here is a link to their online forms, which are particularly helpful if you need a pre-purchase exam for buying or selling a horse.
