With a 16,000 square foot facility located thirty miles west of Fort Worth, Weatherford Equine Medical Center offers the highest level of care for sports medicine, surgery, internal medicine, podiatry, diagnostic and regenerative medicine. Their state-of-the-art equipment and technology have received a merit award from the Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition. With board-certified specialists in both surgery and internal medicine, a partner in Animal Imaging of Irving, TX which provides access to MRI and nuclear scintigraphy, Weatherford Equine has established itself as a regional leader in equine veterinary care.
Their in-house lab is federally-accredited for EIA Coggins testing, but it’s also a complete diagnostic lab capable of delivering accurate and timely results so that horses in their care can get treatment as soon as possible. And this is just the start of their facility and expertise. They have a hospital barn with 15 in-patient, 5 isolation, and 9 mare and foal intensive care stalls. They have a large indoor lameness facility, a surgery suite, and four separate exam areas. Plus, they have 5 one-acre turnouts, 1 six-acre pasture, and 1 ten-acre pasture for long-term boarders.
Their veterinarians have specific interests and experience in lameness, podiatry, reproduction and dentistry. They also offer farm-call ambulatory services.
